You might have drunk Java coffee before, or if you are a real connoisseur, you might have even tried a delicious cup of Kopi Luwak. But you probably haven’t heard of Kopi Ubahan, the most exclusive coffee that Indonesia offers. In fact, only Indonesians may drink it, and if non-Indonesians do manage to get a cup, they won’t stay as non-Indonesians very long. Just look at Charlotte here, or should we say Wani. Charlotte was a coffee connoisseur who had searched all over Indonesia to get a taste of Kopi Ubahan. Everywhere that she went said it was impossible for her to try it. She eventually ventured out of the tourist areas of Indonesia, and finally, in a small coffee shop in Balikpapan, she found someone willing to serve her a cup.
She ordered it and carefully sipped it, finding it was the best coffee she had ever tried. As she sipped at it, however, she changed. The first sip brought a new Asian complexion, the second long flowing black hair, the third a new face that looked just like the locals and the fourth sip brought a new body shape. Within minutes she went from looking like a foreign tourist to looking like she was born there, but the changes didn’t stop there. The coffee started to affect her mind, and as she downed the final drop of coffee, there was nothing left of Charlotte. There was only Wani, a sweet young Indonesian woman. She thanked the coffee-shop owner in her new Indonesian and ordered another cup. Now no one would refuse to serve her an unforgettable cup of Kopi Ubahan.
